Able to run at near light-speeds, his powers provide the ultimate caffeine kick: He can run up buildings, move so swiftly he phases through objects, create sonic booms with the snap of his fingers—and never need to order delivery. (Source: DC Comics)
With the upcoming release of Batman VS Superman comic fans everywhere are rejoicing. My husband Andy, is by far the biggest Comic book fan I have ever met. He said it perfectly when fans were upset that Ben Affleck was cast as batman,”True fans will not care who is in the movie, they will just be happy it’s being made”. AND TRUE FANS ARE. (Personally because Ben is such a geek, I feel he’s going to put his body, heart and soul into this film and is going to give a performance unlike any we’ve seen from him) I have learned that the fans of comics are some of the most loyal out there. With both those things being said… I would be pissed if I was Grant Gustin, for those of you who don’t know Grant plays The Flash in the popular TV series.
I can respect director Seth Smith for wanting to have his own dark take on he film, but come on man. My fight isn’t with you, it’s with the idea of Hollywood, I mean this guy has spent the last two years building a solid base for “Flash”. I just feel the unfair of it for him, like i personally showed up for work everyday for two years and then they hired an outsider to promote above me.
The topic on everyones mind was, if not Grant then who? Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) Has been announced to play Barry Allen on the big screen. Due to the fact I watch the TV show I am having a hard time seeing him in this role, but maybe after seeing the BVS movie I’ll see it? However I can say that he will fit the “flawed, deeply human person” theme that Snyder goes for in his Heroes. And at the end of the day the only person who’s opinion truly matters is Snyder he is setting the tone for the entire Justice League Universe. He did say that an actor like Grant wouldn’t fit into their take. With that being said, when it comes time to make the Arrow there is only one man for the job.
Stephan Amell. The Arrowverse star has given 4 years to building a comic platform for the cw and ultimately feeding into Hollywood’s big plan of making multiple hero movies. My only worry with the cast announcement of the Flash is that the casting for an Arrow movie will end the same way. Let me put it plain as day, the only face to be the Arrow is and should be Stephan, he’s the Downey to Iron Man. He can be the gritty guy you want! After Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows comes out in June, the big screen fans will see what us little network people have seen all along.
