Do you eat at your desk? For those of you without a desk, do you pack a lunch and store it in the break room fridge? Β For the rest, who work away from fridges or who store their food with them, here are tips and suggestions! I work from home however Andy works at a dog grooming office where there is no fridge and no microwave. I got so lucky with him, he is not a picky eater at all, minus onions, he hate them!
Let’s start with snacks:
Sliced apples! I could send him with a whole apple but he doesn’t have enough time to eat it at once and says its never the same when he picks it up the second time. There are several ways to prevent an apple from browning when its cut. I prep out every 3days, so they have to stay good for that long.Β Soak them in a bowl of honey water. Use 2 tablespoons of honey per 1 cup of water. This tip is from America’s Test Kitchen; you can watch their videohere.
Beef jerky, pepperoni and salami! These are the best grab meats because they don’t need to be refrigerated till opened.
Simple Lunch:
Baked muffins! A personal favorite, so simple and so fun. Corn muffin mix, bacon and cheese! Cook bacon, crumble and stir in with the cheese into the muffin mix. Cook like normal.
Wraps or Pitas! These are also a great sandwich substitutions. If you have a good enough lunch box lettuce wraps also stay great! Andy’s favorite is a spinach wrap with chicken, pineapples, raisins, feta cheese and a secret sauce you might get to learn later π
